Dalglish has been interviewed for the programme and has said the kickoff should have been delayed.
Personally I remember standing in the leppings land that season watching West Ham, which made it all the scary when it was screened across living rooms throughout England, my first feeling was the scousers were kicking off again, then the realisation that this wasn't hooliganism.
Lots has been said about Hillsborough, I lived in Sheffield for 7 years (not in 89) and my ex-doris worked at the Northern General Hospital where most of the victims were taken, they still keep a diary from the time, lots of ex-footballers coming into the ICU to see fans etc...
This really did start the whole 'scouse victimisation' thing, it could have happened to anyone team and was waiting to happen.
