Villa all in white with no sponsors on their shirts. Ref unable to tell the difference between Villas home kit and our sky blue away kit.!!

Scrappy game, but we looked likely to rob it after Tristan scored.
Lucas Neil gave the ball to them more often than he did to our own, Tristan and DiMichele looked iffy, and Freddie Sears ran his ass off for ten minutes, Savio seemed to be playing as a second left back..... But Fulham drew as well, so as you where for the minute. |

Villa should have had us dead and buried before the equaliser, although we could have easily taken all three at the end. Nailed on pen for handball from
Tomkins at the death so we got luck there I think. MotM from Boa Morte again with Tomkins close behind.

Superb display from our makeshift team, Tomkins was excellent in defence, Dyer got 60 minutes, Junior looked good again and Ashley Young is a cunt.

Tottenham and Wigan both have winnable games against relegation candidates tommorow, if both take 3 points then there will be 3 teams on 44 a single point
behind us, and I can't see us scoring a huge ammount of goals before the end of the season. We desperately need some players back, lets hope that Kovac
will be fit for Chelsea at least......

I refer you to the Mick MacCarthy school of football philosophy.
When a greyhound chases a rabbit because it feels like eating it, the rabbit is running for its life. So who runs fastest? At this stage of the season I would rather play midtable clubs who are looking at the most for Europa Cup than teams of people who may never get another shot at the PL. And it may only be a point but games are running out. |

I think on balance that is right, but teams are down there for a reason...

Well, watch out guys. Chester has entered the world of wireless technology and I type this in my caravan down in Devon (no references to pikey thank you), so I
can keep an eye on you all when I'm away from my PC.
Anyway, obviously didn't see the game but I'm really pleased with a point away from home considering we still had a bit of a makeshift side out. |

Just got back - team kept on working despite mistakes, Zola made a bold decision with Dyer for Collins, support was again excellent and put Villa's to
shame.
Chester - careful where you stick your dongle ... |

What's happened to Parker and Kovac, do you know, One Mac? - two weeks ago, they were fifty/fifty to face Sunderland, then both failed late fitness tests v Spurs, now they seem to be off the radar? Didn't see match, but another entertaining game of attacking football by all accounts, with some shaky defending (only to be expected with Dyer at right back? Or did Neill go back there?) Considering how many 'injury-prone' players we've off-loaded, we seem to have just as many players suffering groin strains and niggling injuries as under Curbishley, despite all the spin about slick new Italian medcal team, and the derogatory comments aimed at Curbishley and his physios.

I've never bought this business about Curbs not employing an adequate fitness/injury prevention.
Hopefully our situation at present is just a little run of bad luck - exacerbated by a smallish squad and a number of injuries to key players. Of the nine injured players, Behrami, Collison and Spector are all "just one of those things", with Ashton's ankle a reaction to a botched job from the original op. Gabbidon appears to have some congenital weakness that nobody seems to able to fix and Carlton Cole's a walking treatment table. The worrying ones are Parker, Kovac and particularly Collins with a groin, thigh and calf respectively. Soft tissue injuries like that should just not happen if players are training/warmed up correctly. Still, Dyer's fit - and that's the main thing... |

Was at the game yesterday, and watched great game of football, both teams going for it. Stanislas unlucky with his chances, Green Noble LBM Ilunga Upson worked
hard all game, Neill was lost in centre mid, but played better at right back, Collins was not injured when subbed he had a nightmare 20 odd minutes lost every
aerial challenge against Carew and Heskey and was out of position a few times leaving Upson 2 v 1 on occasion, fair pay to Zola for noticing and making the
change. Stanislas started well then faded, Di Michele worked his socks off and Tristan laboured, started playing after 70 minutes or so and got his goal, job
done.
Considering the team we had out and the potential Villa had on display it was a point well earned, Villa supporters main complaint was that their defence is not good enough hence the slide from 4th to 5th. As far as Parker and Kovac are concerned I believe the decision not play them today was to ensure they are clearly fit and free from any niggles to play vs Chelsea. |

Oh fuck, thanks Rob. You've just reminded me that I'm going to have to spend 8 odd months having to listen to that fucking whiney, miserable sounding
cunt, McCarthy, next season.
Great away point at another ground where we regularly pick up nothing and get turned over. So that's what, Chelsea, Liverpool and now Villa? This team continues to surprise me. |

Fantastic point - especially as we were behind after only 11 minutes.
Parker has a groin strain and Kovac a thigh strain. Both were officially outside bets to play yesterday. Unofficially, I'm sure neither was ever seriously considered. Far better to give them an extra week and have them 100% for the Chelsea game, especially seeing as how well our reserve side has been playing. I hope Stanislas now gets a rest because he tired a lot yesterday and deserves the break. The injuries have been the making of Noble, thank goodness. That allows us to give Collison all the time he needs to heal properly. Huge plaudits also to Tomkins, who has improved with every game and shown he is now ready to be considered Upson's permanent partner. So much to be positive about. It must be killing some of you *swt*...... |
