We have these anti-third party regulations but then always turn a blind eye when they are broken.

West Ham were going to plead not guilty to the original charges and claim they applied only to club ownership, not player ownership.

I am told Eggy only changed his mind and pleaded guilty after much arm-twisting by his fellow chairmen who were mightily fearful of what might happen to deals of their own.

Plus, by challenging the whole system, West Ham might have forced an end to the loan system. And no club wanted that.

As I said, until the FA and PL grow sufficient balls to tackle the situation, it will continue to be a mockery...
