The standard in the Premiership last year was pretty poor yet we still got well and truly relegated. Mind you this year its worse.

Fact is West Ham as a club and particularly team had become so toxic with little or no self belief or focus or standing that any manager to build and turn round the attitude of the team as BFS has done surely deserves some acknowledgment if not outright gratitude. I remember the shite football in the late 70s so it was vital to build self belief through a sense of winning and this he has done in spades from a position of near disaster and potential free full. We are now in a position with the new players and attitude to build and that can be judged on achievement at season end initially and thereafter next season and how we build upon it should we be promoted. But sorting out the problems as has happened was an absolute prime necessity over a clamour for pretty football with players not up to the job.
