Big game, lets hope they are up for it.
There does seem to be an irony that the team suddenly grew a pair of bollocks and resilience the moment Kevin Nolan was sent off v Millwall and they've maintained that ever sice.

By all accounts Tomkins, Noble and Collison were excellent in midfield last night. With Tomkins in holding role, and Faubert and Vaz Te providing width, the midfield has a balance to it.

Nolan was awful at Ipswich, and then was stupid to get sent off at Millwall, and the team has done very well without him, not least in terms of commitment.

Of course, Nolan will be back, but he doesn't have the right to walk straight back into the team.

Exactly! But don't let Dan L hear you say that.

You see it's simply not on to be over the moon with a win, yet notice that we seem to have been a better "team" without a certain player.

I mean, that's not what football fans have been doing since the leagues began is it.

A fair old slice of West Ham fans have got so used to cunting the team off that there are clearly absolutely no circumstances that will allow them to wallow in a bit of glory.

Tuesday night, in the winter, at a northern bolt hole, two of the first eleven suspended and on of our best players sent off after 45 minutes and your primary observation is a snide one about one of the players who has served to instil this new found resilience into the side with his approach to the game and the club.

Save your response about how it's not your primary concern and you're just being an really insightful bloke while I'm being a happy clappy Hammers fan with a big badge on.  You've dug your trench, I've dug mine, neither of us are getting out of it.

You've become a typing parody of your proclaimed expert subject.
Trenches? Primary concerns? Proclaimed expert subject matters?

Jesus, Dan get over yourself. Think you're looking in to this a bit too much me old fruit.

It's this simple: Great result, over the moon. Showing signs of a real team. Has anyone else noticed that we might be performing better whilst Nolan wasn't in the team?

That was it. A throw away comment. Wasn't really expecting anyone to reply.

You then get your knickers in a slight tangle and talk about digging trenches.

Have a day off mate..
