Following three games with 10 against 11 we looked extremely leggy today and failed to put a poor Palace team to bed. Ironically, the longer the game went on the more chances we created but sadly the three best ones fell to the hopeless and hapless Sam Baldock - and he didn't make the opposition keeper work anything like hard enough. Although I was hoping for a "Noble pen 84" it just didn't happen and I'm bound to say I really do think had he been playing Kevin Nolan might have got on the end of something for us today. For all the talk of our mythical longball game we overplayed it a fair bit, especially in the first half. As Sam Allardyce is fond of saying sometimes you must just "respect the point" and move on.

While I'm sure the early kick-off and Kids for a Quid were contributing factors there was an atmosphere of expectation around the ground that really didn't do anyone any favours. As an example there were some corporate twats behind me in the Bobby Moore Lower (I sit/stand in the back row) who didn't stop moaning all game. I snapped halfway through the second half at, "I'm glad we don't have to watch this shit every week" and pointed out how glad I am we don't have cunts like them behind us every week. I felt I was in my rights to point out the contrast between this season and last - so did.

My dissatisfaction was obviously evident to all. Some Palace fans unwisely attempted to take our pub post-match but to everyone's relief they were safely seen off by my rapier wit...
