TV money may not be up to EPL standards (though I bet theirs is better than ours at the moment). But their Ibrox average is more than 47,000 and they are usually in Europe every year. The fact that their owners got a bad atack of the living above their income syndrome doesn't alter the fact thatthey are an internationally famous huge club. And stil the only serious bidder was somebody who should not have been allowed to buy a club.

A major reason why there was a lack of prospective new owners was the Big Tax Case, potentially a 45m to 75m tax bill to a club that are losing a million a month, and have sold off at a discount a large portion of their season tickets for the next 4 years. Added to that is the recent revelation from a former director Hugh Adam (the man whose work at Rangers Pools is credited with rebuilding Ibrox after the 71 disaster) that RFC have been issuing players with 2 contracts, one unofficial obviously, while high profile people at the club were also serving at the SFA.This has been going on as far back as the mid 90's. Long way to run this story. (In the unlikely event anyone wants to know how a massive club end up in a mess like this it's pretty much laid out here www.rangerstaxcase.com )
