Sorry to bring the tone down on a Saturday but I don't get it.
Maybe never?

Or when it suits the politician's personal agenda to do so.

Whay hasn't it happened... something to do with the fact that mainstream politicians around the world rarely act on principle and often on pragmatism.  Syria aren't seen as much of a threat to the West, and buy our arms.  Also China and Russia aren't on board, there's little popular support in the West for another war, and Syria is much more of a threat to regional security than Libya were if it does all kick off.

Interesting fact... when I used to work in the City I used to sit about 6' away from Assad's (now) wife Asma.  She was very very very foxy.  And a little aloof, but not too much.  Nice enough girl.  I must say that I never saw her ending up married to a globally detested war criminal.  Some things you really don't see coming.  [Await's passing flying pig and a post from LSD T that makes sense.]
