Totally agree with your perception of weekend, lycra clad, cuntsticks who wobble about all over the English countryside all weekend. I've do my fair share of that although you won't be surprised to hear that I always pull in when I hear a car coming and thank anyone that doesn't manage to clip me with a wing mirror. Drivers are far more considerate than the average cyclist would have you believe as much as they like to moan about it. I've cycled a 40 mile round trip from the 'Wood to the City for years and never had any aggro (I'll obviously now get killed on the way home). For the likes of me there is very little skill involved - you need to have the same sort of awareness and 'hazard perception' as the average motor cyclist but for the vast majority of the time you're just sitting and peddling.

The skill levels go through the roof on the Tour though - cycling at 30mph in a bunch of cyclists no more than 10cm away from each other or tearing down a mountains twisty roads at 50mph takes bottle and a lot of skill.

I found Wiggins comments really ironic given it's probably the PED's he's been pumped with for the last decade that cause him to be so moody.

'All you need is a good set of lungs, core strength and stamina' is selling it a bit short - that's like saying all you need to be any sportsmen is whatever the required physique is - which in every case is really fucking hard to get.
