You miss my point. I think you will find that I clearly posted that there is nothing wrong with participation in disabled sport. Absolutely the opposite, in fact.

I find the 'inspirational' argument particularly sickening. The only way that an able-bodied person can be 'inspired' by a disabled one is by the thought process, 'if that raspberry can do it, I'm fucking sure I can'. Hardly the stuff of high-mindedness.

Able-bodied or not, that's not the relevant part. It's the drive, tenacity and sheer bloody-mindedness to achieve that's inspiring.

Can that inspiration not be got from able-bodied athletes, then?
