Most able-bodied people can't have the slightest idea of the difficulties that disabled athletes face. To gain inspiration from the overcoming of obstacles that cannot be comprehended is patronising.

When I was a kid I was inspired by Brooking, Moore, Gooch and the like. How is Tanni Grey-Thompson supposed to inspire me? To take up wheel-chair racing?
