I still maintain that being inspired by handicapped people doing not-particularly impressive things is patronising (the performances are only impressive in the context of being done by someone who is not well-equipped to do them). I fail to see how a person can be patronising without looking down. It's just an uncomfortable thing to be accused of. But no more uncomfortable than being accused of having issues with the disabled.
