An athlete biological passport is an individual, electronic record for professional athletes, in which profiles of biological markers of doping and results of doping tests are collated over a period of time. Doping violations can be detected by noting variances from an athlete’s established levels outside permissible limits, rather than testing for and identifying illegal substances.

This is where the big change has happened - it is not just about detecting drugs and masking agents, it's about ensuring that an athletes body chemistry does not change much over time.

May 2010 article "Professional cycling is the first sport to embrace the relatively new test, and it's just nabbed its biggest catch"

2010 TdF - Contador won and was stripped
2011 TdF - Evans won
2012 TdF - ????

I think that 2011/12 will be shown to be a point where cycling has got better.

We are finally getting to a point where we can say that cycling is fairly clean, I honestly believe that, but I can't prove it undoubtedly any more than you can say 'Wiggins is really good therefore must be a cheat', whilst conveniently ignoring all things that suggest otherwise.

How about you try to refute my comments about how power to weight ratios of riders has fallen significantly compred to 5,10, 15 years ago - do you say that this is untrue, or is it true but not down to fewer drugs?
