As Joe said we went without a striker rather than him. Can't believe people are defending him. He was utter pony.

Monksta, you fail to see the point I am trying to make, Sam loves a big lad upfront and a little fella to feed off him, last season we effectively had neither, but our style of football was played as if we did!!!

For every one of those 17 appearances, Maiga was played in the position of either coming in off the wing or as  lone striker, just like AC, and we gave him the type of service as if he were AC, which he aint and never will be, what should have happened is our style of football should have changed to a more  quicker passing and movement game from front to back with through balls for the likes of Jarvis, Downing and Maiga to run on to, but the problem was our pre season was based entirely on plan A and our midfield (Noble & Nolan) were too slow in thought and passing ability to execute that type of football, with Diame and his blind running/dribbling getting us nowwhere, ergo no plan B, but as you know when the main componenty of plan A is injured long term and we have no plan B, any striker would have struggled to play up front for us last season, not just Maiga, unless he were in the mould of AC to implement plan A.
