I think what Fred is saying is Maiga could have been a world beater and fully reached his potential if he'd had the same opportunities early on in life as those posh players like Beckham and Brooking, if his coaches had been paid a decent wage to reflect their professional status, and if the board had kept out and let those coaches get on and do what they do best - coach. It's not all about scoring goals, you know. It's about developing fully as a striker, and realising it's ok to be beaten to the ball sometimes. If you need a breather, have a breather.
