I think Sullivan is absolutely dreadful in this self appointed Director of Football role, but I really don't think that a (nother) gobby radio interview gains you much leverage in a negotiation. Reid has a market value which is determined, shockingly, by what the market will pay him.

We'll either offer that to him or we won't and he'll either take it or he won't. Whatever offer Reid's agent believes was implied in a radio interview will be a lot less relevant than what they actually offer him.

How many years does Reid have left on his deal? If he's just going to run it down we might have to think about moving him on.
