I could be wrong but I'm afraid we are going to get stuffed against Spurs largely due to the appalling pre season - not results but the fact he hasn't integrated the new players into a slightly more adventurous formation.

I think you're looking at this the wrong way. There is zero chance that Allardyce is changing his style. Why would he? He doesn't think there is anything wrong with it. The Club may be giving it some with a PR war on the fans but the style on the pitch isn't going to be changing. You might see incremental upgrades as Monk says because Kouyate is better than Taylor, and Zarate is better than Vaz Te but by and large it will be exactly the same as it always is. As terrible as we have looked this pre-season, has it really been any worse than Man City on the last day of the season, or Palace at home last year?

In fairness to Allardyce, I actually think that sticking to his guns is reasonable. I can't personally watch it anymore, but he has the right to do what he thinks is most likely to win the team points. Eventually the Club will have to make the decision about whether they are happy in 12th position playing in front of 28,000 or whether they think there is something better out there. When they eventually come to make that decision it will be squeaky bum time given their utterly appalling track record so far with anything affecting the team.
