We would have two upfront when attacking with five in midfield when defending. You woudl also have the option of either one or two wingers depending on the situation.
I maintain that our system is designed to have 4 players getting far forward when we attack, or at the very least the opposite wide man becoming the second striker when the wide man on the ball gets forward.  For whatever reason, mainly that we defend so deep and resiliently, this often fails to happen.

I cannot see how playing '2 up front' eliminates the problem that we get forward too slowly unless the '2 upfront' really is '2 upfront'.

Where in what Dicks said did he make it clear that '2 up front' meant "5 in midfield for the majority of the game when we are defending, just like BFS plays it now?"

More importantly, you lot know me well.  Do you reckon I can pull off this 'trainers of different colours thing' dat da yoot r rockin now?  Do the trainers have to be identical other than colour or can you go for - say - white leather and blue suede (obviously they are identical otherwise)?
