Agree wholeheartedly with Clack. Nolan is doing nothing different to what he did when he arrived. Then everyone was sucking him off telling us what a greater captain he is etc etc. I said back then he if doesn't score he is ineffective but crucially if he isn't scoring then we as a side are ineffective. Our most important player bar none.

He did his job yesterday by getting the pen.

I didn't think we were that bad, as surfy said could have gambled a bit more against ten, but apart from that we had 3-4 good chances. Cress well, Kouyate looked an upgrade and Diame looked confident.

Vaz Te had 5 efforts at goal. Can't remember when Jarvis, Downing or Diame offered that goal threat from out wide. Woeful finishing but I'd persevere with him.
Vaz Te, eh?

I love him.

That ain't cos he is great.

I definitely prefer him out wide, and I love that he has something about him.  A lot about him.  Is he a PL striker?  Is he a PL player full stop.  Jury's still out.

I prefer Downing, Jarvis and Diame out wide to Vaz Te, but I am happy enough to have him as an option out wide.  Very happy in fact.  But if you are BFS, you want a big lump up front, you don't tust Valencia to play that role (probably rightly, albeit we might be surpirsed when we do see him leading the line alone and getting hit with long balls for 90 minutesstraight), Carroll is injured... surely Vaz Te has to be worth a go?  Surely there is a chance he'd be as good or even better than Cole?
