I sit in the East Stand too, not next to Big C I must add, and my Jarvocam has a very good view of Jarvis.

He does not lack confidence, if he thought he could beat the opposing player and deliver a decent cross he would, fact is he can't, as has been proven too many times. I admire the fact that he can beat a player but almost consistently fails to deliver the required good cross, (why is this so eay for Jenks and Cresswell but not him?) hence the critcism , after all that is essentially what is required of him.

He is good at making a run for a pass when the space between the passer and him is occupied by at least 2 opposition players, looks good but is completely ineffective. Baldock did it when there was a pass on but Noble, primarily, opted to not pass.

Jarvis scored against Southampton at home earlier this season, if you watch the goal, he was favourite to the ball, he bottled it, the keeper cleared him out but missed the ball, hence the goal.

I would not say he is a coward, but rather tackling or putting his foot in is not one of his strenghths.

Again the standard of play in the team has gone up this season and last seasons first teamers have had to step up, I would argue that the likes of Nolan, Collins, Reid, Tomkins, Downing have put in a tremendous effort to achieve those heights.

Jarvis, like Joey O'Brien and Guy Demel, I'm afraid has no more gas left in the tank to give, we have seen the best of them, unfortunately their best in the new West Ham no longer warrants a place in the starting XI, dems the breaks.
