If he was a mad genius like PDC or liked a beer like Moore and MacAvennie he'd be worth a punt because those players showed their commitment when it was needed. But he isn't. He is a wannabe gangsta who has made far too much too young and hasn't got the character to repay the people who have had faith in him. The old cliché that it is a team game is still true. Why should a whole squad of committed if less naturally talented players stand by and see him get special treatment for being a nasty little shit? We have had decades of weak management, now we finally look like we have got a team spirit he has to go. Because once that line has been crossed they never come back. Anton was being touted for an England place before he pissed off on a jolly and lied about it. We should have terminated him on the spot. He has been going downhill ever since and so will Ravel.

Pretty much spot on IMHO.  It's been 6 or 12 months or so for me since I made the decision to pretty much ignore the guy.  If he gets his head right then hopefully he is still a West Ham player when he does.  But I'm not wasting my time hoping for that to happen.

Anyone hear Cottee talk for ages on talksport last night.  Interesting chat generally but one thing he said - which made me think of Ravel - was how important your mentality is as a footballer.  Ravel clearly has no chance of any sort of career when his raw talent is Barca and his attitude is not even pub team.
