Bruce sorted us out tacktically in the first half, by playing a back three and having the wing backs push up meaning Cresswell and Jenkinson could not get into the game and they over loaded us in midfield.
Trouble was for them that their success was also their weakness beacuse playing that way meant they only had one up front so when the little guy took us to the cleaners in the 1st 15 mins they didn't have another striker breaking his neck to get in there and support him.
What it did show for us is that Noble and Nolan playing together in a diamond does not work especially when Downing gets pushed out wide where he is only half as effective.
Once Sam rearranged the diamond swapping Morgan with Noble who had been pushed out wide in the second half everything to fell into place.
The critisism of Tomkins is a bit unfair and he was exposed by the little guy running in behind Cresswell and he simply cannot distrubute from the left hand side.
Surely the penny has to drop with Sam that the team he finished with, Obrien apart ,is the best we have at present without the two African boys.
All be it Noble and Nolan may be interchangable but do not fit together
