This is the difficult phase. Denial, then anger but soon will come acceptance, forgiveness and then you can move on.

You're a lost cause. The team win 3 nil and you're central midfielder does nothing ? I think the problem comes not from you not going to games but from never playing it.

You don't win games if you're central midfielder does nothing. You just can't appreciate it. Your hero BFS picks him reguarly surely that must be good enough for you.

After reading Jack Charlton you highlighted the team thing. Nolan is a cog in a machine.

Where did I say he did nothing?  I said that there are many things that are not his strengths.  Leadership - I buy that a side without Collins or Noble the team might benefit Nolan's leadership, but if Noble is playing then surely the team do not need Nolan  as well?  Leadership in a side is very important, obviously.  But I find it hard to believe that there are so few leaders in our squad that Nolan deserves his place on that basis alone.  I did not say he did nothing... running round and covering space is vital - I'm just saying that I fail to believe that this is anything other than a bare minimum requirement for a midfielder.

Maybe we should look at this another way.  Would you have played Kayoute above Nolan if Kayoute had been available, ideally with reasons?  Would we have done better or worse had Amalfitano started in place of Nolan, ideally with reasons?

4231 - I would not consider playing Nolan wide.  I would not consider playing him behind the striker if Downing was fit.  I would not play him in defensive midfield if any two out of Song, Noble and Kayoute were fit.

442 diamond - I would only consider playing him in the wider 2 positions not DM or head of the diamond if Downing was fit.  I'd ratehr see Noble, Kayoute, Song, Amalfitano, Downing in the wider 2 positions.
