Talk about a game of two halves!

The whole team was shit first half - luckily Hull's finishing was sub-Premier League-standard, and we were let off the hook.

The boos and groans at half-time were for the whole team. It was rubbish, and the paying customers let their feelings known - that's normal, that's human nature, and you'd better get used to it, as the club are hoping to get around 50,000 paying customers at the O/S.

2nd half, there was more urgency in our play right from the start. We moved the ball with more speed and accuracy, and then, after the change, the team had more shape with Downing in the middle, and we completely outplayed Hull, who, judging by their total lack of fight after going a goal down, are heading for relegation.

Nolan was awful 1st half - but no more awful than anyone else - and Nolan was good 2nd half, especially after Downing replaced Noble in the middle, and the team had a better shape. Brilliant shot from a tight angle from Nolan, when he hit the bar.

The same people who booed at half-time, all cheered and applauded the team off at the end - that's normal, that's human nature.

Noble had one of those games where he misplaced virtually every pass - the first real stinker of a match he's had this season? (he had a few last season, and that's why he'll never get near an England squad).

Given that both Noble & Nolan lack pace, I don't think we can afford to have them both together in central midfield. It has to be one or the other.

Collins' tackling, heading and blocking was excellent, as usual, and it has been all season. Unfortunately his distribution was particularly poor yesterday - he more than anyone has the tendency to aimlessly hoof, and concede possession.

But, then again, considering how good Collins' other defensive qualities are, if he could pass the ball too, then he wouldn't be at West Ham, but some Champions League team!
