That's true, and I heard Eddie Hearn interviewed, saying that they picked Johnson as they thought he would take Joshua into rounds he's never been to before - I think he's never had an opponent last beyond 3 rounds so far.

He is powerful, and none of his opponents so far have come close to handling him. He could be the real deal. He might not. I try to look beyond the hype and wait until he fights someone with a real pedigree - Admittedly, in the heavyweight division, that's pretty hard right now, such is the dearth of real talent amongst his peers.

He'll get a shot, no doubt at all, and he may well take it and reach the top. We'll need to see him fight Wilder, Haye, Fury and Klitschko before we know.

I'd really like to see him against Haye. It would be an interesting fight. For all of Haye's weak chin, which would be a big target for Joshua, he is a boxer, and would give Joshua some challenges he's not faced so far. I've seen all of his (AJ) fights, and he's barely been hit. Really need to see how he responds when he comes under pressure and someone manages to land some big shots on him.
I'm pretty sure AJ's record is pretty much 33% 1st round stoppage, 33% 2nd and 33% 3rd with none longer.  It took me approx. 2, maybe 3  hours to watch all 13 of his fights back to back on youtube, including a bit of build up and post-fight talk for quite a few of the fights.

Barely been hit is an understatement.  From memory in 13 fights about 3 times he got caught and each time his response was to laugh out loud at the bloke who caught him.

I totally buy your last paragraph, anything could happen, who knows.  But part of me does think "why on earth do you think he'd come under pressure?"  He's big enough not to come across bigger fighters. He's quick enough not to come against quicker fighters.   What on earth makes you think he might get hit?

Did you hear that Fury interview from 5 years ago?
