Unless he gets injured again, then its a great decision. Problem is, we cant afford to have him on our treatment table again. I would hope that if there is anything in this, that we have something big lined up to replace him. If our plan is to rely on Cole, then I fear for the season ahead.

I undestand that you can disagree and disagree strongly. But, surely everybody must acknowledge that the bloke has hardly ever played for us. Zola's aim is to have a small squad of 21 outfield players, plus youths to plug the gaps. You can only do that with players that have a good fitness record. So, if he wants him out, he is at least being consistent and sticking to his plan. Obviously, if the money is simply trousered, then all bets are off. Zola is off too, I expect.

Is it possible that the club are letting the medical team make positive noises about Ashton's fitness, even though he could still be fucked, thereby enticing some needy club in to shelling out some dough and get another crock off our hands?
