Make of it what you will but by far the longest interview with our CEO I have seen.
Maybe being a gay Tory allows you to slip inside the inner workings of the club. Maybe it is all spin. Nonetheless a little interesting.

I think he probably just threw that name in there to emphasise the point that he thinks we're going places, rather than it actually relating to a specific
deal.

The jury for me is still out but there is no doubt this was a bit more revealing than the norm. If of course he isn't spinning it though most of what he
says fits with the past 12 months. Sounds like Jan was interesting times for us and got us closer to being fucked over royally then first thought. Or not.
I do hope it is somewhere near the truth because what he says about running a club fits well with how I think it should be done. |

I don't trust SD as far as I can throw him..... and that is no where near as far as I would like....
The way he portrays himself as 'only following orders' previously, yet now he is the 'power behind the throne' is sickening. So he appointed Zola did he?? Two years ago he was tea boy and what, now he is Master of the Universe.... Wow big steps my young Padawan........ In him I believe not, in him I trust not, in him I have faith not, but he does have those Yoda like ears....................................... |

Well....I'm warming to SD.
Some of us were only too happy to slate him over the Tevez shambles, we should cut him a little slack with how things have progressed since. |

We are specifically looking to take Bojan on loan. Thats why he would have mentioned Barcelona.
People seem to have a pre-disposition to hate SD. I quite like him. |

I have no predisposition of hatred towards Scott Duxbury. But that doesn't stop me hating him for the dissembling, incompetence and outright lies that
characterised his involvement in the Tevez affair.
If you talk to people working around him, they do little to enhance my view... |

I agree that his handling of the Tevez affair was diabolical, all that business in Les Ambassadeurs etc.
And maybe I'm still being played? Who knows? But I just feel that all the vitriol directed at him at the time has to be balanced against what he has done since. |

Well I am more interested in judging him on what he does in the next twelve months; hopefully he has learnt from a somewhat mixed start but then most people in
that sort of position do. Its about developing into something consistently better that counts.

I expect you've probably all seen them, but there's a couple more Duxburys on Kumb:
http://www.kumb.com/ So we (whoever we are?) didn't know that Eggert's massive spending was loan funded and not 'owner funded'? Should we (the fans) buy that? |

I read that and thought the same, so Igoe and Duxbury had no idea that Eggy was doing that ??
The tone of those interviews is 'I'm very well respected dontcha know'. I just don't get why he has turned things around. We still sold considerably more than we invested last transfer window. I'll give him credit for appointing Zola though, maybe it was more luck than judgement but props for that. 'I was round Zola's for a BBQ and it was clear Jiminez is central to everything, I said yeh great Franco but where the fuck is Courtney Love ?' |

Personally I'm not sure about him but I don't get why we should expect a full, frank and truthful explanation on anything. Surely we have always been
lied to or had the truth twisted, not just at West Ham but in life in general. Time will tell.

Fuck me, at the time I was not the only one on here dispensing warnings as to Eggy's reckless behaviour.
And if I had an inkling, you can only think Duckers is either a. Lying (something he has substantial form in) or b. Fucking stupid (Something he has etc etc). Whichever way you go, it doesn't pan out well for our man... |

Look if Duxbury does as well over the next 12 months as he has in the last we have fuck all to criticise him over.
We are now running within a sustainable budget, have a managerial pairing linked with one of the most powerful clubs in Europe, and a squad that I can only see being better than last years. For me Duxbury must have done what he needed to over Tevez etc. maybe he made mistakes, covered for Eggy, who knows? I find it hard to believe things couldn't have been handled better, but to be honest its boring and irrelevant now. We can all sit here waiting for the bloke to fuck up, but just maybe he will be good at the job now with no-one to answer to, as long as he keeps things on an even keel, hopefully moves upwards a little too. I honestly can't think what anyone is worried about at West Ham right now. |

Part Two of the KUMB interview with SD is amusing...
>"Straumur seem to be letting me get on with it and letting Gianfranco get on with it and not interfering. The big fear is it's sold, somebody comes in and says 'right, I don't want Gianfranco, I want this high-profile manager ... no you're not playing Collison, we're going to go and sign Kaka' - and then the wheels come off"< and then a few paragraghs down he says... >"Put it this way - if Kaka becomes available and he needs to earn a little bit more, I'd be flexible!" |
