Any word from those who profess to have the knowledge on this boy? As the rumours/wires over in Barca have him BIG TIME linked with us today for a season long
loan. This may or may not be dependant on them signing David Villa this week.
I still find it hard ot believe they are considering letting him go to us. |

Assuming we are after him - and he's any good - it can't hurt that he had a shite tournament (and was booed off I think?).
Not that he's a big secret in world football. |

We have been talking to Bojan and Barca for at least a month. It seemed like a deal couldn't be done, but things have been rekindled again in the last
couple of days.
We seem confident still of getting Mancini and Bojan which, you'd have to say, would be an impressive three acquisitions for the summer so far. Not sure the strength of the Gudjohnsen link. Can't say I'd care for him myself, but he would certainly strengthen the squad... |

He's only 18 and his name is anagram of Banjo.

I like the Sammy Davis Junior version best, then the little known Bob Dylan version. It's a great song, so even the Potteries Poofter couldn't ruin it.

Jiminy Christmas, the boy can score for sure, but I doubt he would be suited to PL football, even if West Ham do prefer to play football. But he has big heart
so you never know. In Zola I trust. Only a loan so can't really grumble. Just nice to see us finally making some noise in the transfer market.
I'd be happy with EG. Could be the link our midfield and forward line have missed for nearly as long as I can remember. I LOVE Mr Bojangles the song. |

This has got me Spotifying... the Jerry Jeff Walker original is immense, and a listen to King Curtis Live at Fillmore West doesn't go amiss. Hell, I even
like the Neil Diamond version. None of 'em could kick a ball for tuppence though.
And I think Mr Red Card may now have the definitive first name for his boy... Bojangles Day, lovely. |

I like the Neil Diamond version too. Arguably my best music purchase this year was the best of Diamond on CD. I think this is a sign that I am getting older.

You fucking cunts!
Having never come across the song I just Spotified (is that a verb?) Mr Bojangles on your recommendation. What utter wank - exactly the sort of aural torture they would "sing" in the Masons Arms on open mic night. I'm more than disappointed... |

Wow, in that case, I bet you don't even like 'My Way' and won't be having it played at your funeral Moxy?
I'm amazed. |

For a number of reasons Straight to Hell by the Clash would seem the most apposite.
Not that I'd ever really considered it... |

'My Way' is gash. If anyone ever bothered to listen to the revoltingly self-cebtred and self-justifying lyrics, it would never be played again. A bit
like, 'The Greatest Love of All'.
I like the open mic night at the Mason's Arms. Life's not all Soft Machine, Rimsky-Korsakov and Echo and the Bunnymen, you know. |

That being the case, I invite you to Bury St Edmunds next Wednesday for their next open mic extravaganza. In all other respects it's a lovely pub but
I'd put money on you running for cover within 30 minutes.
Just to let you know too - I could never stand the self-indulgent prog-rock wankfest that was Soft Machine.. |

I still believe you are the prime suspect for pushing Robert Wyatt out of the window.

Prog rock? I always assume this to mean Pink Floyd, Genesis and Yes. Soft Machine were not like that, more self indulgent introverted musical rambles. Their
double LP (Four?)is one of the few I have ever bought that I never played all the way through. But I liked the first couple. Mike Ratledge who was their
keyboard player has just died BTW.
Pop quiz: what other bands are also named from works by the greatest force in modern American writing? |

A combination of (fading) memory and Google -- Steely Dan, The Soft Boys, and Dead Fingers Talk? I'm sure that there used to be a minor band called The
Naked Lunch too?

And of course Soft Machine. Steely Dan, the only band I can think of that is named after a dildo.
