Arsenal got a bit complacent, we started playing and enjoyed the rub of the green for a change. A really important an enjoyable point.

2-2 result v Arsenal when we went down was for some the game where it all began to go wrong - Kanoute penatly miss at 2-1 up and then the mass booing that
followed the next home game v Charlton. Same points after eight games as we had back then but 2-2 tonight, a potential season defining result. Hull and Burnley
up next month which will be the real acid test.

The thing that I like about Diamante is that he makes the defence think about more than double marking Carlton Cole, they have to come out to shut him down as
he'll have a go from distance, and of course he offers a completely new dimension with the dead ball.
I thought that Hines made a real difference as well. Again, he pulls the opposition about and creates space for others, as well as being a threat himself. Massively a game of two halves, the problems aren't cured, but hopefully both the players and fans can see some light at the end of the tunnel that wasn't there at half time today. |

I love Hines. The way he chases the ball down and is generally a livewire seems to give us something extra, and I can only guess we don't start with him as
he is so young? Diamante, as has been said, seems to be the only player we have capable of striking a decent free kick.

This was in my opinion the best performance of the season so far, and I was saying that even when we were two down. CC was isolated but to be fair the wide and
central MF were finding it tough against a very good team indeed.
The attitude, the obvious signs of coaching and dealing with a very partisan ref were great plus points. Minus points were the complete mugs who decided to do one early because we were losing. And for a set of really good players Arsenal are among the most cynical professional foulers and divers I have ever seen. That's what got Parker sent off. |

the people that booed them off at half time and left very very early can go
Parkers second yellow looked fair to me, he knew what he was doing and it needed doing, the ref was terrible until the last fifteen, Cole looked a different player, some really good close control and invention, Hines looked electric, I'd feed him the ball all day long, ots of the players had a good game, arse are cheats/divers we have to play two up front every game Green's rather fortunate stop from their point balnk header was an escape |

I've just read in the times that Parker's second booking was for deliberately falling on the ball. What the fuck? Surely he slid in controlled the ball
and then came away with it is that illegal?

He did fall on the ball, we saw it very clearly in chav corner, marginal as he pushed past and then in front of the layer with the ball

They said on the TV that no way was it a foul and that Fabregas had pushed him, but you probably had the better view. Be interesting what you think after
seeing it again.

much better 2nd half once the subs came on early. 442 is clearly the way to go when its asked of these set of players. fuck knows why they dont start hines
from the start is anyones guess. young? fucking hell, hes 20+ years of age aint he?? rooney had a head start of abolut 5 years so dont see why he couldnt cope
with it all. and when he does play hes always making things happen, liek winning the free kick for our 1st. Cfc continues to surprisingly impress as much as he
has done. and that was never a 2nd bookable offence for parker, fucking dickhead ref. very valuable point that.

And here is me thinking; he got away with a tackle from behind, got caught grabbing the ball when it squirmed away from him, stood up, gave the referee a mouthful of abuse just minutes after his first booking and was extremely unluckily and very unfairly carded for the seventh time in seven games. All this after stinking the place out for 70 minutes in a performance that screamed, 'please sell me first, Duckers'. |

From one look at it, live at the game, I thought Parker got round the side of Fabregas, made the tackle, got a clear nudge off Fabregas and gathered the
ball with his hands in order to get up and take our free kick quickly. But then I'm biased, need to see it again.

I'm not sure that Parker was any less effective than he's been all season, being reasonable on the ball and in defence but always short or misjudged on
the pass.
I'm also not sure who i'd play instead, concidering Noble really did stink the place out, and Kovac isn't widely rated. |

Rotter. I suppose it's a matter of interpretation.
'being reasonable on the ball and in defence but always short or misjudged on the pass' is entirely fair, but in addition to being completely indisciplined all season and appearing completely indifferent, for me equals 'stinking the place out'. I've had it with him. He wants away and is doing a Defoe. If I were Zola, and assuming Dyer and Ashton are dead, the finishing 11 would be my starting 11 from now on. Franco looks a half decent bloke to have a the bench. Stanislas also. Faubert maybe should come into midfiield to add some venom, a la LBM. As Sir Alf said, it's not about picking the best players, it's about picking the best team. |

Diamanti - at last someone who knows where the goal is, in the sense that he's always looking for an opportunity to shoot. Great pen too. Shame he's
such a lightweight. I'll be surprised if he plays any more than a part-time role like today.
We can be Arsenal-esque sometimes in our apparent desire to walk the ball into the net. Parker should never have been sent off. The first yellow was completely soft, and the second? He had his eyes closed as he fell so there's no way he intentionally handled the ball. Our defence is so lacking confidence. That's the difference at the moment. We were lucky to be in the game at half time. Let's hope Collison and Behrami can get back up to speed so we have the settled midfield we finished with at the end of last season. Don't forget how rubbish our injuries have been this season. |

PP66,
I sat opposite it in then DML and he didn't just handle it, he took the lace out of it for no apparent reason. I think SP gets some unfair criticism on here though and thought he had a decent game. Not sure that I agree with Surface that we were "lucky" either. Loads of positives to take from this, particularly now Cole (who was a different class today) is finally getting some support. (p.s. I thought Chav Corner were superb today)
