Have you ever given it a chance? Baseball is a fantastic sport, occupying the same sort of cultural space as cricket does for us. It also makes (largely futile) attempts to ensure that every team playing the game has a chance to win. Which I respect as a fan of a sport that does everything it can to ensure that very few teams have a chance to win.
Sorry but I have to disagree - the luxury tax, amateur draft, revenue sharing? Those are all attempts to redress the balance. As I said, they are largely futile because big money teams still dominate, but they are there none the less. Professional football doesn't even pretend to care about competetion. it might be less successful than other US sports but I am talking in comparison to European football.
In the last 10 years we have had 8 different World Series winners. The Premiership will never, ever have that level of balance.
