I think you will find that I clearly posted that there is nothing wrong with participation in disabled sport. Absolutely the opposite, in fact.I find the 'inspirational' argument particularly sickening. The only way that an able-bodied person can be 'inspired' by a disabled one is by the thought process, 'if that raspberry can do it, I'm fucking sure I can'. Hardly the stuff of high-mindedness.

I think society has moved on (well, most of it) from viewing disability as the end of a life that just becomes the passing of time and a drain on close family who have to care for you. Progression in the understanding of mental illness and the acceptance of broader society that once a person declares themself fit for purpose - they're back in the game and we should cater for them in all workplace and sporting facilities - has helped everyone except Surface and Hoddle get to grips with a more inclusive society.
I'd rather work with a bloke in wheelchair than a bird from Yorshire any day of the week.
Obviously I'd want a go in it every now and then, that's only natural. And yes, if there's a fire, I'm not fucking about. Of course, I'd use it to get good seats at sold out gigs and sporting events and naturally I'd tip him out of it every now and then to give the rest of the office a laugh. But I'd never feel the need to patronise the little floppy legged cunt.
